Singing Valentine Program

In addition to our annual show held in July, the second largest fund raiser for the chapter is it's Singing Valentine Program. Two or three quartets cover the White Mountains area from Snowflake/Taylor, Linden, Show Low, and Pinetop/Lakeside, delivering two love songs, a personalized card, and a long stem red rose to special loved ones at work, at home, and in restaurants.

This is a unique way to say, "I Love You" to that special someone. We have delivered valentines to wives, husbands, girl and boyfriends, to teachers, parents and grandparents. Reactions vary from tears to laughter, but always, in the end singing valentines are sincerely appreciated by the recipient.

The Pine Tones, shown here singing at the Bison Ranch ice cream parlor, have delivered Singing Valentines in each of their four years of existence. To arrange for a Singing Valentine, call them at 537-2392.
The Ponderosa Quartet, shown here during the 2004 Chapter show, "Remember Radio", also has delivered Singing Valentines the past four years, primarily in the Snowflake/Taylor area. To arrange for a singing valentine in that area, call them at 536-5138.
For 2005, the Pine Tones and Ponderosa were joined by our new quartet, Crooks Trail.

The 2005 High Country Chorus Singing Valentine program was a huge success, with over 40 happy recipients enjoying their serenades, plus several hundred others that enjoyed the valentine vicariously watching and listening.  Three quartets were active on Feb. 13 and until late evening of the 14th. This is an event conducted each year, with many repeat customers.  This years total participation was the highest to date.

Steve Taylor treated his wife Joanne, and daughter- in-law Xan to a singing valentine, and for Steve and Xan a happy anniversary serenade while dining at a local restaurant.  See the photo below.  The "Pinetones" performed for this event, with Bill White standing in for Ivan Mahadik who was ill at the time.
