OC Times

Fresh from winning silver medals at the Denver International Quartet Contest, OC Times performed in the White Mountains on the very next weekend!

This young, energetic quartet breathes new life into some of our favorite swing standards and rock and roll classics. Hailing from Orange County, California, Shawn York (tenor), Sean Devine (lead), Cory Hunt (bass), and Pat Claypool (baritone) have taken barbershop back to where it started over a century ago: into pop-culture.

As a competing barbershop quartet, all four are proud members of the International Barbershop Harmony Society. OC Times are 2007 2nd place International Medalists.

In addition to quartet singing, all four are International chorus gold medalists with the Masters of Harmony, as well as section leaders for the 2006 International silver medalist chorus, Westminster. In April, 2006, OC Times performed with the Big Apple Chorus in the Alice Tully Hall of the world famous Lincoln Center in New York.

JDJ and The Upright Bass

The White Mountains have a "new local quartet." JDJ and The Upright Bass were formed in 2007, yet have some barbershop experience. Tenor Joel John and bass William Sullivan sang in a college Barbershop quartet at Eastern Arizona College; baritone David Sullivan sang in a quartet in High School. Lead Jonathon Thompson is singing in his first barbershop quartet. The quartet competed at the recent Arizona/Southern Utah/Southern Nevada Divisional convention, and finished a very respectable eleventh place.

The High Country Chorus was extremely pleased to have these young men on the 2007 show, and we hope they will perform with us often in the future. They were a "hit" with our audience!

Our Dancers

Beverly Gries graced our stage for the two show performances, dancing with Ron LaMar in the afternoon and Steve Taylor (shown) in the evening performance. The dance sequence added greatly to the "Caberet" number.

Thanks Beverly for being part of our show this year!
