Our Featured Quartet

NeXus

The dictionary definition of "nexus" is an accurate depiction of this quartet's connected blend of voices and personalities. Barbershop Harmony Society Rocky Mountain District Champions in 2004, and International competitors every year since (2005 - 2008), NeXus is delighted to be out and about performing throughout the country as one of the Top 20 quartets in the world.

Comprised of long-life musicians, the four a cappella and barbershop enthusiasts continue to advance the art forms and capture the hearts of their audiences.

Ryan Wilson, the quartet's lead, is a multi-talented musician and accomplished performer with four district quartet championships to his name.

The bass of the quarter, Mark Zenk, is an active barbershop competitor and busy performer, traveling nationally with multiple a cappella groups.

Mike Davidson, the group's baritone, has been active in a cappella and barbershop groups since the ripe old age of 8 and brings an extensive performance background to the group.

And saving the best for last, the final member is tenor, George Davidson. In addition to being Mike's dad, George was the baritone of Classic Collection, 1982 International Champions, and he has been actively performing world-wide for over 25 years.

When you put them all together, NeXus truly makes a remarkable sound and lights up the stage with their fun personalities. It's obvious they love what they do, and their audiences love it too!

The High Country Chorus thanks NeXus for being on our show, and for being such a delight to our audience.

Composition 4

Joel, Will and David, former members of JDJ and the Upright Bass, teamed up with a new Tenor, Chris Palmer to form the Composition 4 quartet earlier this year.

They recently competed in the annual Far Western District Division 5 quartet competition, representing the White Mountains Chapter, and placed a respectable 9th out of 18 quartets, improving their score from last year by over 120 points.

Bass - Will Sullivan works as an electrician in the White Mountains and lives in Concho, AZ. Lead - Joel John is a commodity relocation specialist and lives in Flagstaff. Baritone - David Sullivan is a soils technician for Western Technologies and lives in Concho.

Tenor - Chris Palmer recently moved to Utah and won't be able to sing with Composition 4 in the future. Dallin Durfee, long time barbershopper and good friend, has recently joined the quartet as the new Tenor. He lives in Payson and works as a Pharmacist.
