2006 Harmony Award
Winner - Scott Gentry

The High Country Barbershop Chorus annually presents the "Harmony Award" to "a deserving person who promotes vocal music in the White Mountains." Director Doc Dockendorf and Chorus President Bob Koons proudly presented the third annual award to Scott Gentry during the intermission of the 2006 show.

Our 2006 Harmony Award winner is a Choral Director for the Show Low School District and Fine Art Chair at the High School. He also teaches piano and voice students through his private studio, and for NPC. He received his Bachelor's of Music degree from BYU in 1979, and has completed graduate classes in choral music and piano pedagogy from BYU, NAU, and ASU. He is an active member of MENC, AMEA, and MTNA. He is the founder and director of the "Feast of Carols", a Christmas Season Madrigal dinner show that has enjoyed 22 seasonal performances. He has been the musical director, producer, and/or vocal coach for the thirteen musical productions produced at SLHS over the past 26 years. He and his wife Jeanne are the proud parents of seven children, and eight grandchildren.

Each year a committee, consisting of previous BOTY winners, select the individual who has been the chapter "Most Valuable Player" for the year. This selection is made from a list of nominees made by the chapter membership. The 2006 Award Winner was:
