The Tucson Barbershop eXperience scored 70.5 to capture the AA Plateau championship at the 2009 Arizona Division Contest on April 25 in Phoenix. That score is the highest achieved by the competition chorus in over 10 years. The score also earned Tucson the Most Improved Chorus award and qualified for an invitation to the Far Western District Fall Competition in Sacramento in October as well as second place overall. a Huge Success!

Teaching clinicians Connie Keil and Charla Esser were supported by Dayle Ann Cook and Havin' A Blast quartet from Tucson Desert Harmony and Eastsiders and Sonoran Sound quartets from The Tucson Sunshine Chapter. Jeff Dolan, director of Tucson Barbershop eXperience, served as production manager and MC for the afternoon show. The entire event was organized and coordinated by Ron and Annie Hayes with support from Paul Ludwig, George Gerby, Karl Trader and members of the Tucson Sunshine Chapter and Tucson Desert Harmony. Phoenix, AZ, April 19, 2008. By virtue of its improvment over last year's Division Contest scores, the Tucson Barbershop Experience was awarded the Most Improved Chorus trophy. The chorus also captured the Plateau A Championship and qualified to represent the Division in the Far Western District Contest in October 2008. Beginning with the rehearsal on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, the Tucson Chapter will be meeting and rehearsing at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. The Center is located at 3800 E River Road (at Dodge). Recently Alvernon Road was extended and now connects to River Road. Traveling north on Alvernon from Ft. Lowell Rd. you will turn on Dodge and be able to enter the south parking lot.
