Class TitleClass OverviewClass description
Marketing and PR VP Facilitated workshop on practical approaches to marketing and PRThis will be a hands-on class where ideas on successful marketing and public relations will be shared by all participants. Rather than a lecture to tell you how to be successful, the instructor will facilitate discussions on programs that have been tried and collectively the class will suggest enhancements and modification to tailor approaches to meet the needs of individual chapters.
Membership VP Facilitated workshop on how to attract new members to your type of chapterThe approach in this class will be to move beyond the traditional guest night and direct focus on how to attract new singers to chapters of various sizes and abilities in innovative ways. The role of the musical director and the music team will be included in class discussions.

Effective Communication Skills and Leadership Behaviors and Styles are outlined. A Combined Secretary/Treasurer with Presidents class illustrates the varied paperwork involved in both of these functions and how these two roles ensure that a chapter remains both organized and legal in all its workings. Chapter Planning introduces the skills for creating the plan, writing it down, and the ever-important follow-up so that the plan is successfully accomplished. In Problem Solving, participants will use specific problem-solving strategies in and from barbershop-related situations to show how to bring these issues to a positive solution and hopefully eliminate the cause of the problems as well. Challenges addresses personal barbershop concerns that the participants have already encountered in their tenure and illustrates the concept of “Making Something Different Happen” and how you as a chapter leader can ensure success.
Program VP Planning a chapter meeting that matches your chapter's goalsThe Program Vice President connects all the dots to putting a weekly chapter program in place. The instruction portion of this class will show how to work with the other chapter officers to create a weekly program that inspires your members. Included will be a long list of ideas for activities that will keep your members looking forward to every chapter meeting.

The class will also provide significant time to discuss your particular issues and will include brainstorming by the class to chart some new directions.
