High School Quartet Contest



Combined high school quartets performing as a chorus

High School Students

The contest is open to male high school quartets in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, and Southern Utah.

Each quartet member must be currently attending a high school

Each quartet is to sing two barbershop songs in good taste in the contest

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 5 winners

Your local barbershop chapter can help you with music and coaching

Top society quartet members will be the high school contest judges and will coach your quartet after the contest

Participation in the high school contest includes a free registration to the full convention starting Friday noon

A teen afterglow is included late Saturday night where top quartets will sing and invite students to sing with them

There is no fee to participate, but the students are responsible for their expenses

It's Time To Get Ready!
That's right! Before you know it, the March Convention date will be here. NOW is the time to get high school quartets organized and rehearsing regularly. Get them the opportunity to perform at school concerts, and also let them sing on your chapter shows!

We have not confirmed the adjudication panel for the contest.
REMEMBER, All these great barbershop gents will be working with you after the contest during your coaching sessions!

How Do I Sign-Up for the Contest?

Online Registration!

This is the preferred method of signing up. You can the big button below to register online for the contest. We need plenty of information to get you registered, so you may want to print out one of the forms available on this page below and fill it out first. That will make it easier to complete the online form.

Remember! You do not have to register for the convention. All competing high school quartet members receive complimentary convention registrations.

STEP 1) Print out the Contest Registration Form

STEP 2) Fill it out!
Make sure you complete ALL the fields. I've also included a place to sign up e-mail addresses for your quartet, your parents, your music teacher, etc. This will only be for used for e-mail pertaining to high school barbershop, and will not be provided to any outside sources.

STEP 3) Get it to me!

You'll need to arrive in Bakersfield on Friday, or at least no later than early Saturday morning. Plan on staying through the Saturday evening events if you can.
