You Can Still Sing
When you graduated from school, your singing options didn't stop. The Barbershop Harmony Society has over 800 chapters across North America with over 25,000 men enjoying chorus and quartet singing every week. You can too!
Here in the Far Western District we represent 84 chapters from Arizona to Hawaii. We have world champion level choruses that focus on the high quality competition and we have chapters that are more oriented to performing in their communities. We even have a youth chapter that is a World Champion.

We have many other choruses that are more locally focused. Some are very competition oriented, some are more socially oriented. All of our chapters hold an annual concert in their community. Just click on Divisions and Chapters of the Far Western District to learn more about the chapters near you.
Then call or email one of their contacts or officers to plan a visit. You'll receive a warm welcome and you'll spend the evening singing some really fun music.
Most of our chapters have regular vocal instruction and we hold an annual weekend school with many classes to choose from on vocal techniques.
We are a quartetting society and our district has had many top quartets over the decades.
We think of ourselves as the District of Champions. We have lots of opportunity to
form quartets and to get the highest quality coaching available anywhere. On your first visit to one
of our chapters, don't be surprised if you are invited to join three others to
sing a song. It won't be pressure, just opportunity.
Pictured on the right is OC Times, the 2008 International Gold Medal Quartet Champion from our district. They're a very popular quartet and have sung many places across our nation, as well as other countries.

We hold two International Conventions every year where thousands of barbershop singers gather for contests, classes, and singing everywhere they go. Get a flavor of these fun times by viewing the 2009 International Convention promotional video.
One of our favorite passtimes is singing tags. They are the very last parts of songs and are frequently the prettiest part of a song. You can learn a tag right now with our Society Youth In Harmony/Collegiate Director James Estes on his YouTube Tag Time video.
